Abstract:
Abstract The enhanced $$^{51}\hbox {V}$$ 51 V NMR in $$\hbox {Al}_{2} \hbox {O}_{{3}}$$ Al 2 O 3 and [C( $$\hbox {NH}_{2})_{3}$$ NH 2 ) 3 ]Al( $$\hbox {SO}_{4})_{2} {\cdot }6\hbox {H}_{2}$$ SO 4 ) 2 · 6 H 2 O have been studied. Both systems are Van Vleck paramagnets. Analysis of enhanced $$^{51}\hbox {V}$$ 51 V NMR and $$\hbox {V}^{{3+}}$$ V 3 + ESR data allowed us to estimate vanadium nuclear quadrupole frequencies and hyperfine interaction constant B for $$^{51} \hbox {V}^{{3+}}$$ 51 V 3 + ions in corundum for the first time.
