Abstract:
Abstract Fiscal policy has been receiving significant attention, and understanding its effects is crucial when considering its role in the post-COVID-19 era. This study analyzes how aging, infrastructure governance, and labor market flexibility influence fiscal policy effects. This paper finds that population aging diminishes the effect of fiscal stimulus. Furthermore, the macroeconomic effects of public investment are shown to be contingent on the quality of infrastructure governance and the flexibility of labor markets. The paper also reveals that countercyclical fiscal policies could promote gender employment equality.
