Social network effect on self-rated health in type 2 diabetic patients – results from a longitudinal population-based study

Martina Eller, Rolf Holle, Rüdiger Landgraf and Andreas Mielck ()

International Journal of Public Health, 2008, vol. 53, issue 4, 188-194

Abstract: The results point towards a ‘buffer effect’ of the social network, indicating that the positive effect on health can be seen mostly among those who are exposed to a high level of burden, in this case exposed to a chronic disease such as type 2 diabetes. Copyright Birkhaeuser 2008
