Abstract:
Abstract In the present scenario of India war situations, unmanned surveillance is mandatory to reduce soldier death ratio and safeguard the country. Internet of Things (IoT) technology is a new concept, aid for effective monitoring and overcome defence surveillance problem. This article carried out the design and implementation of IoT based solar powered versatile moving robot with battery backup facility. The special features of the proposed model provide 360 degrees surveillance, monitoring parameter like temperature and humidity, detects intruders, metal bomb, fires and land mines by camera and sensors respectively with Raspberry Pi. The solar panel is used to provide power supply to the designed model in addition also provided battery backup for effective surveillance without interruption of power supply. IoT based new multifunctionality moving robot introduced with the help of Raspberry Pi and novel app named as a Soldier Assistant Navigation app for Indian Army is developed for defence application. In proposing model hazard, protection and control are done with the help SMS to the defence authority and gives an alarm indication to the soldier. The experimental results of the proposed model proved the validity. Hence, the proposed new approach based versatile robot successfully achieves enhanced surveillance and security and can be applied to other applications.
