Abstract:
Abstract Reliable transmission of data over wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is the major challenge as it is affected due to interference, noise, synchronization errors and distortion. Link failure between two nodes in WSN leads to network partitioning and packet loss in chain based routing protocols. In this paper, we propose Markov model based dynamic chain routing protocol (MMDC) for grid WSN for error control as well as for link failure detection by employing Reed Solomon (RS) encoding procedure with different error correction capability adaptively based on channel condition. Also dynamic chain formation bypasses failed link and improves reliability. Proposed work leads to reliable data communication which contributes towards improved quality of service (QOS) in WSN. The simulation results of proposed technique for different scenarios of WSNs reveal improvement in packet delivery ratio as compared to the existing techniques.
