Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, we consider the Riemann problem and wave interactions for a $$2 \times 2$$ 2 × 2 non-strictly hyperbolic system of conservation laws with non-convex flux. Riemann problem can not be solved always in the usual class of elementary waves and the solution develops $$\delta $$ δ -waves. We construct the exact solution to the Riemann problem for the governing system and discuss all possible cases of wave interactions involving $$\delta $$ δ -wave.
