Abstract: Abstract This paper documents key macroeconomic facts of Japan’s labor market, focusing on both stock and flow data while reviewing existing literature. Using the latest data, it highlights major trends in the labor market, including labor force participation, employment composition, working hours, wage dynamics, and worker flows. By systematically examining these macroeconomic facts, this paper aims to offer crucial insights for researchers conducting macro-level labor market analyses and for policymakers. Additionally, it provides accessible data on the Japanese labor market as a supplementary resource to support further research and policy development, which is available on the author’s website ( https://sites.google.com/site/hiroswebsite/data ).
