Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to analyse the barriers to university-industry cooperation in the academic region III, in the Angolan context. This is a qualitative study with the use of content analysis whose information was obtained from several semi-structured interviews. The results show that lack of inter-organisational trust and low experience level are frequent barriers in this type of relationship. It was also identified that the weak growth of the business fabric, the distance and/or geographical discontinuity of the university’s head office may constitute one of the barriers to cooperation with industries outside the academic region III. A number of measures have been suggested that will help industries and universities overcome barriers to cooperation.
