Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this study is to understand in-depth the role of entrepreneurial university in promoting entrepreneurship education in the Tunisian context. An exploratory qualitative approach was implemented based on a case study of four institutes strongly involved in the field of technology and having an entrepreneurial orientation. Eighty semi-structured individual interviews, direct observations, participant observations, and documentary analysis were conducted. Jansen et al.’s (The International Journal of Management Education, 13, 170–181, 2015) model was exploited to compare between public and private institutes. Results revealed that Jansen et al.’s (The International Journal of Management Education, 13, 170–181, 2015) model activities were verified, and students endorsed a favorable attitude towards entrepreneurial university practices in promoting entrepreneurship education, with the exception of one single activity related to fundraising only for public sector. Furthermore, we have found that private universities were much more involved than public universities.
