Abstract:
Abstract The objective of this study is to explore the effects of socio-economic factor (GDP per capita, level of education and Inflation rate) on crimes level (corruption) in South Asian countries. For this purpose, the Panel Co-integration method is applied for empirical analysis by using annual data set for the period 2000 to 2021. Furthermore, for the parameter estimation, we have applied Fully Modified OLS (FMOLS) and Dynamic OLS (DOLS) models. The findings of this study show that inflation and corruption have a positive relationship while per capita income and education level have negative association toward corruption.
