Abstract:
Abstract This study examines the use of m-payment system in Fiji using the UTAUT model. It measures the user’s intention to adopt the m-payment system using variables such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. A quantitative approach was used to address the research hypothesis. Data was collected in the western part of Fiji from 301 respondents and analyzed using the partial least squares–structured equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings suggested that all variables affect the user’s intention to adopt the m-payment system; however, performance expectancy and facilitating conditions have a stronger influence. This research study is useful for the stakeholders in deciding to establish a proper m-payment system.
