Abstract:
Abstract The main purpose of this study is to offer a relatively integrated perspective on the role of eco-innovation strategy as a critical factor in driving eco-innovation toward successful business outcomes. The study uses survey data from a sample of 199 private manufacturing companies in Greece and employs Partial Least Squares—Structural Equation Modeling to test the developed hypotheses. The empirical results provide evidence of the critical role of eco-innovation strategy in effectively implementing eco-innovation dimensions and their impact on environmental and firm performance. The sample is restricted to a single country (Greece). Furthermore, researchers should evaluate the same relationships while considering the potential mediating role of digital innovation and technological mediators in such a combined approach. The empirical findings from this study help managers recognize and leverage effective methods to enhance eco-innovation in their firms. This study, while taking into consideration the mediating role of eco-innovation strategy, examines the interplay among eco-innovation, environmental performance, and business performance to achieve superior outcomes in manufacturing firms.
