Abstract:
Abstract Given the advancements in mobile communication technology and the proliferation of smartphones, mobile payment has revolutionized traditional payment. This study is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Task-Technology Fit (TTF) model, grounded in users’ psychological characteristics. We incorporate openness, technology anxiety, and network externalities for analysis and exploration, hoping to gain a deeper and systematic understanding of the relationship in usage intention. A total of 287 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective response rate of 95.6%. The results show the following: (1) Openness, and TTF have a positive significant impact on the perceived ease of use (PEOU) of mobile payment. (2) Technology anxiety has a negative significant effect on the PEOU of mobile payment. (3) Task characteristics and technology characteristics have a positive significant impact on the TTF of mobile payment. (4) PEOU, network externalities, and TTF have a positive significant impact on the perceived usefulness (PU) of mobile payment. (5) PU has a positive significant effect on the intention to use mobile payment. The findings provide us with some insights into the trend of mobile payment today.
