Abstract: Abstract In a rapidly evolving knowledge economy, the role of vocational education in China’s educational system cannot be overstated. This research paper delves into the transformative potential of information-based instruction in vocational education, aligning it with the demands of a dynamic economy. It explores the principles of information-based teaching, emphasizing student engagement, self-directed learning, and critical thinking. Drawing from primary data and an extensive literature review, this study evaluates the efficacy of information-focused teaching methods and their alignment with educational theories. The research highlights the importance of technological knowledge and skills in educational practices, grounded in the technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) framework. Furthermore, the paper introduces the structured quality design (SQD) model as a practical framework to bridge the gap between theory and practice, promoting student-centered learning and technology integration. The study’s findings provide valuable insights for educational policymakers, emphasizing the need for strategic investments in information technology infrastructure, curriculum development, and educator training. This research contributes to the theoretical understanding of information-based instruction, student-centered learning, and the role of technology in education. It offers managerial implications for policymakers, advocating for policies that prioritize student-centered methodologies and the integration of technology, ultimately enhancing vocational education’s effectiveness in preparing students for the knowledge-driven economy.
