Interorganizational Coordination for Immigrant Integration into Local Society

Abstract: Abstract This study aims to explain drivers of interorganizational coordination supporting immigrants’ integration into local societies in South Korea. Interorganizational coordination is operationalized as a network among multiple organizations. Exponential random graph modeling (ERGM) is utilized to analyze a set of network data measuring interorganizational coordination in Incheon City, South Korea. Content analysis of news articles is conducted to elaborate on the ERGM results. Findings reveal that local interorganizational coordination was developed based either on intimate relationships among two to three organizations or relationships boundary-spanning organizations rather than driven by certain organizational traits or organizational reputations. Based on the findings, this study provides some implications to facilitate interorganizational coordination for immigrant integration into local societies.
