Abstract:
Abstract The current research aims to determine the perceptions and attitudes toward the Syrian refugees’ impact on the socioeconomic sectors in Jordan. The data was collected through a quantitative survey targeting a random sample of 1462 respondents from the host community in the governorates that hosted the largest number of Syrian refugees, where the response rate was 58.48% of the distributed surveys. The descriptive-analytical approach was relied on as a statistical method in analyzing data through means, standard deviations, correlation, and one-sample T-test. The results indicate that the Jordanian society has a negative perception of Syrian refugees’ impact on the socioeconomic sectors in Jordan, where the greatest perception impact was on unemployment rates, followed by education, and then health.
