Abstract:
This paper analyses the history of education in Goa under Portuguese rule and bring out distinctive features of educational development by different phases. The analysis is focused on four and a half centuries of acculturative Portuguese influence in Goa and educational development during that time to understand Portugal as a colonial power, its aims and objectives, and the centuries in which colonization of Goa took place.
