Abstract: Abstract Jungle Nama is an adaptation of a folktale of environmental justice from the Sundarbans. Amitav Ghosh has previously used fiction to address climate change and related issues. Similarly, in Jungle Nama, he tried to use the moral compass lied within folktale to arouse environmental consciousness among the people of the area. Ghosh has tried to maintain the essence of the original work by keeping the same verse style and the usage of some local hybrid words. With Ghosh's charm and Toor's illustrations, both the story and the narrative have a universal appeal to readers of all ages. It can be considered as a light read for those who are interested in a story, specifically coming from the Sundarban area.
