Abstract:
Abstract The current highly disruptive market the supply chain complexities and security concerns are increasing. In order to increase the stability in the market fluctuation, and customer satisfaction, the real-time secure information sharing and traceability of the products between the entities in the is essential to prevent nefarious threats in the food supply chain. The effective, reliable, and automated information sharing in the supply chain is the key for supply chain 4.0. In this paper, we present a blockchain-based smart contract with an IoT-enabled shipment process to transform beverage supply chain operations to enhance the security and efficiency of the beverage supply chain. The proposed smart contract is being tested for the fresh orange juice supply chain operations framework intend to motivate supply chain 4.0 for secure, timely information and automated payment without the involvement of a third party. Furthermore, the proposed smart contract addresses the issue of perishable product expiry dates. The traceability feature of the blockchain, as well as real-time data transfer via IoT devices, ensure the product's quality and freshness.
