Abstract:
Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine earthquake knowledge levels and post-earthquake trauma following the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on February 6, 2023, which are widely referred to as the disaster of the century. The data collection process starting immediately after the major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, is crucial for understanding the levels of earthquake knowledge and post-earthquake trauma in the study. The research sample included 434 participants who were students selected through random sampling methods and currently enrolled in the Faculties of Sports Sciences at universities in the cities of Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Malatya, and Adıyaman, which experienced the great earthquakes on February 6, 2023, in Turkey. In the study, there were significant differences in independent variables and, phases 1 and 2. Correlation analysis found a negative and moderately significant relationship levels.
