A framework for assessing the effectiveness of local stabilization measures through InSAR deformation analysis: a case study on a mega-landslide in Chongqing, China

Abstract:
Abstract Landslides pose significant risks to human life, property, and ecological systems, yet assessing the effectiveness of mitigation measures remains a critical challenge. This study introduces the Dynamic Management Effectiveness Parameter (DMEP), a novel framework integrating SBAS-InSAR and PS-InSAR technologies to evaluate the effectiveness of local stabilization measures. The DMEP categorizes mitigation outcomes into four levels, ranging from highly effective to ineffective. When applied to the Sanshe landslide in Chongqing, China, the framework demonstrated substantial displacement decreases and improved stability, with DMEP values ranging from 0.283 to 0.358. Despite these improvements, the study highlights the need for further refinement to enhance the universality and applicability of the framework across diverse landslide scenarios.
