Abstract:
Abstract This study considers a single server Markovian queueing system with a second optional service and service interruptions. The service is interrupted during the busy period of both the first essential service and the second optional service. The customer whose service is hindered needs to go through the process from the earliest starting point on consummation of interference or continued from where it has halted. In light of the linear reward cost structure, the customer’s joining strategies are investigated in two cases; in particular, fully unobservable and almost unobservable, as per the server’s state information available to the arriving customers. First, we obtain the stability condition and stationary distribution of the system for those cases. Thereafter, we determine the customer equilibrium strategies, and some numerical illustrations are presented.
