Abstract: Abstract School principals play a central role as far as teachers’ motivation is concerned. Determining principals’ views on teacher motivation and the sources of motivation for teachers is important in terms of quality as well as motivation management practices. The recognition and evaluation of the motivation resources of the teachers by school principals is thought to contribute to student success and thus ensure high quality education. For this reason, a total of twenty administrators from five districts were selected to be interviewed to determine the methods adopted by the school principals and the vice principals to increase teachers’ motivation and ascertain the sources of motivation for teachers in order to ensure high quality education. As the results of this case study revealed, effective communication, protection of teachers’ self-interests, positive reinforcement, encouraging teachers’ involvement, well-solved teacher problems, continuous efforts to be fair, effective leadership, regular meetings, efforts to meet teachers’ needs, quality performance management, occupational socialization, successful body language, adequate financial support and praising working discipline were identified as effective sources of motivation.
