Abstract: Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine the expectations from psychological counselling and rehabilitation centres of students at psychological counselling and rehabilitation department of Near East University in the Nicosia district of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2015–2016 academic year. The universe of the study consists of students who are enrolled at the psychological counselling and rehabilitation department at Near East University in 2015–2016 academic year. The data of the study were collected through a questionnaire which consisted of two sections. In the first part of the questionnaire the introductory information of the participants such as their gender and grade were asked. In the second section, an expectation scale consisting of 76 items was used by the researcher in order to determine the expectations of students from psychological counselling and rehabilitation centres. Confirmatory factor analysis, KMO coefficient, and exploratory factor analysis was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of this study, it was understood that (a) most of the students did not benefit from guidance service, (b) they expected from guidance service to support them in terms of self-confidence, (c) expectation and satisfaction levels of students showed difference based on gender, (d) the expectations of female students were higher compared to male students in terms of the scores they obtained from knowing the person, orientation and direction and placement sub-dimensions. Based on the obtained findings, it is recommended that guidance service should be made more active and students should benefit more from the service and guidance service should program its efforts taking into consideration the expectations of students.
