Abstract: Abstract A composite score is made up of two or more variables that are conceptually or statistically correlated. There have been many methods to make composite scores, but it is still not easy to construct a desirable composite score given variables for a specific purpose. In this article, we present the composite scoring methods which represent each subgroup variable as equally as possible while having a predictive relationship to a future dependent variable. The presented composite scoring methods are also compared with the conventional methods for different correlation structures.
