Abstract:
Abstract Functional measurement methodology is applied in many psychological fields to investigate cognitive operations of information integration that people use in judgment and decision making. It is in principle an effective methodology. However, it relies on multi-subject designs and includes the methods of rating, factorial design, and analysis of variance that may cause difficulties in interpreting findings. This paper examines these difficulties and suggests future research that may overcome them.
