Abstract:
Abstract This paper presents the results of analytical studies on the dynamics of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites listing, namely, cultural landscapes inscriptions over the past 12 years. The concept of cultural landscape continues to be discussed. The observed trends in the list of officially recognized cultural landscapes, as well as in the set of sites that are formally not relevant to this category but have reason to be recognized in this quality are examined: it is proposed to call them latent. The potential of Russian cultural landscapes of world significance and the prospects for their inscription in the World Heritage List are considered in the context of global trends.
