Abstract: Abstract— The article discusses the successes of the agroindustrial complex of Russia until 2022, its specifics, and regional features. The concept of food security is studied, which includes not only the ratio of production, consumption, export and import of food in the country, but also the physical and economic food availability to the population, as well as the sustainability of agriculture and the food industry. The author analyzes the degree of modern involvement of Russian crop and livestock production in the international division of production and possible consequences of its transformation associated with the departure of foreign companies in 2022 and changes in international relations. The specifics of the institutional and spatial organization of Russian agriculture and the processes of its concentration are shown. Maps of the regional specialization of those sectors of agriculture that are most dependent on the import of seeds, livestock genetic material, machinery and equipment have been compiled. The role of agroholdings in the new conditions is revealed, as well as the specifics of small enterprises and households, general and regional prerequisites, and limitations of their functioning. The trends of change and prospects of producers of different forms of ownership in different regions in the new geopolitical conditions are studied, including the search for ways to transform the agroindustrial complex of Russia.
