Abstract: Abstract This paper examines the presence and transformations of Mexican mineralogy in scientific discourse, both within Mexico and internationally, during the mid-nineteenth century. It uses a geohistoriometric approach, categorizing, and quantifying data to establish reliable indicators. The primary objectives are to emphasize the importance of Mexican mineralogy, the challenges it encountered in engaging with the international scientific community, and to identify indicators of its epistemological transformations alongside the early development of public policy in this area. These epistemological indicators are visible through the diversification of argumentative styles, research subjects, methodologies, geographical contexts, and types of documents utilized. Together, these elements reveal the changes and continuities in knowledge that facilitated the transition from one scientific model to another, addressing the evolving demands of society and the political circumstances of the time.
