Abstract:
Summary Large-scale projects are often carried out by multiple teams working simultaneously on different subtasks. Such multi-team projects are characterized by strong interdependencies between the teams. Apart from the extensively studied withinteam cooperation, the collaboration between teams seems to be a necessary prerequisite for team success. In this paper, a concept of between-team collaboration is developed and empirically tested in a longitudinal study. The findings demonstrate that both types of interaction have an influence on team success and can be achieved simultaneously.
