Abstract:
Abstract Contemporary society is increasingly recognizing the imperative need for a groundbreaking economic model that seamlessly integrates the environmental and social ramifications of production and consumption. Stakeholders are placing heightened expectations on industries, compelling them to embrace transparency by disclosing the environmental and social consequences of their activities. Within this context, the significance of sustainable manufacturing cannot be overstated. Sustainable manufacturing endeavours to mitigate adverse environmental effects, reduce energy and natural resource consumption, all while upholding social responsibility and economic viability. This paper aims to conduct a thorough comprehensive analysis of the literature reviews on sustainable manufacturing within the industrial context over the past five years. The analysis seeks to unveil the industries that have made the most significant contributions in this area, while summarizing recent subjects, objectives, and findings in the research domain. Furthermore, the paper provides a compilation of suggested frameworks or models in the field of sustainable manufacturing. The goal of this study is to identify research gaps for future works, contribute to the ongoing studies in sustainable manufacturing, and propose directions for future research endeavours.
