Abstract:
Abstract The Q–Q plot is a well known technique to visually ascertain whether the hypothesis of a distribution holds for a given data. The plot is also useful to understand some specific properties of the distribution that generated the observations. In the present work, we propose methods for estimation of the parameters of the distribution and testing the goodness of fit based on the correlation between the plotted points. The method is illustrated with simulated and real data.
