Abstract: Zusammenfassung In der protestantisch geprägten Diskussion des Begriffes „Nachhaltigkeit“ wird sich gegenwärtig meist auf die Definition der Rio-Konferenz von 1992 bezogen. Die exegetische Perspektive fügt den Liebesbegriff im Horizont der göttlichen Gnade hinzu. Das so erweiterte Verständnis von Nachhaltigkeit bietet Entlastung für die einzelne Unternehmung in ihrer Beziehung zum einzelnen Partner auf der persönlichen, auf der zeitlichen und der intergenerationellen Ebene.
