Abstract:
Abstract This study applied input–output analysis to examine the industrial linkage effects of the logistics service industry based on the data collected from input–output tables provided by the World Input–Output Database. The results showed the detailed industrial linkage effects of the logistics service industry, indicating several logistics sectors (transportation, storage, and handling) are not only interdependent but they also form a service ecosystem. The study results provide new insights on industrial linkage effects of the logistics service industry and their ripple effects throughout the economy. The results will be valuable source of knowledge for establishing service industrial policies for both the logistics industry and a country’s economy as a whole.
