Combining social innovation and systems thinking to improve charity's performance in downtown of Tehran

Abstract: Abstract Many people have difficulty providing basic needs, and donations from charities couldn't overcome this serious problem. Utilizing social innovation can be effective because it creates equal opportunities and unlocks solutions to social challenges and tries to suggest sustainable solutions. The purpose of this study is to provide a solution for the transformation of charitable donations using social innovation. Hence, the action research method and systems thinking approach were used to collect data and provide solutions. With snowball sampling numerous meetings and interviews with fifteen stakeholders were conducted; System's diagram has drawn, and four leverage points were achieved. Then, solutions were presented in two parts: quick fixes and fundamental solutions. In the quick-fixes section, the wall-of-kindness was suggested; for fundamental solutions, employment, crowdfunding, and micro-loan allocation were keys and leverage areas to solve this social problem. Finally, Best and Worst method were used to rank indicators and employment with 0.365 weight gained first rank.
