Abstract:
Abstract This paper claims that an interference awareness solution is required to harvest the frequency potential of Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) dual-tier on macro-Picocell architectures. For high Picocell Access Point (PAP) density circumstances, a logical clustering algorithm (LCA) based on minimum distance requirements is proposed in this paper to prevent interference between PAPs (co-tier interference). The simulation results show an improvement in the performance of the network using the optimization technique based on LCA. Finally, the self-optimizing nature of the proposed deployment strategy, which employs the FFR method for interference management for both co-tier and cross-tier interferences, improved the quality of received signal to interference noise ratio (SINR) and overall throughput enhancement.
