Abstract: Abstract Determining and evaluating the sensitivity of water delivery structures in irrigation networks can lead to better management of these systems. So far, some indicators have been introduced and used in this regard. Most of the previous indicators were based on the discharge difference of the gates due to changes in input factors. The novelty of this paper is the definition of sensitivity for performance indicators of irrigation and drainage networks. 12 equations were introduced to determine the sensitivity of the indicators to gate opening changes and discharge changes. The values of these indicators were determined using a flow simulation model in the Droodzen irrigation and drainage network in southwest Iran. The results showed that the introduced indicators can be used to determine more sensitive structures and better management of an irrigation network. These indicators are general and can be used for other irrigation and drainage networks in the world. Some regression equations were presented to relate the performance indicators to gate setting. The sensitive structures may also be identified comparing the slope of these lines.
