Abstract: Zusammenfassung Mit der jüngst vom Bundestag beschlossenen Einführung eines Bürgergelds soll die Grundsicherung für Arbeitsuchende zum Jahresbeginn 2023 reformiert werden. Die Reform steht dabei nicht allein für eine begriffliche Abkehr von „Hartz IV“, sondern beansprucht eine „grundlegende Weiterentwicklung“ des Sicherungssystems. So sollen nachhaltige Arbeitsmarktintegration und Qualifizierung gestärkt, vor allem aber das Verhältnis des Sozialstaats zu seinen unterstützungsbedürftigen Bürger:innen von Grund auf neujustiert werden. Die praktische Umsetzung obliegt den mehr als 400 Jobcentern. In einer Online-Befragung wurde vorab ihre Einschätzung der Reform erhoben.
