Abstract:
The EU intended to complete the creation of the internal energy market by the end of 2014. However, it appears that this goal will not be achieved. Due to diverse market interventions at the national level, energy markets still remain heterogenic. The authors conclude that for stronger harmonisation, further legislative action at the EU level is necessary, as current EU legal instruments are insufficient.
