Abstract: Zusammenfassung Das politische Modell einer liberalen und weltoffenen Demokratie gerät in vielen westlichen Industrieländern zunehmend unter Druck. Stattdessen nehmen populistische Tendenzen zu. Dieser Betrag skizziert die ökonomischen Ursachen für das Erstarken populistischer Parteien und Politiker in entwickelten westlichen Volkswirtschaften.
