How homogeneous are balance of payments movements?

Abstract:
The article conducts panel data Granger causality tests for current and financial accounts in 53 countries over the period of 1970Q1 to 2007Q3. We found that there is no homogeneity within the same income groups of economies unlike the previous studies. It implies that push and pull factors of capital mobility are independent of income levels of economies.
