Reassessing the Fed's behaviour towards presidential elections

Abstract: This article re-examines the existence of opportunistic political monetary cycle in the United States using frequency-domain analysis. We reveal the cyclical propensity that expansionary monetary policy emerges prior to the presidential elections.
