The long-run causal relationship between exports and economic growth in the euro area

Ioanna Konstantakopoulou and Mike Tsionas

Applied Economics Letters, 2017, vol. 24, issue 8, 536-539

Abstract: This article employs panel methods that mitigate heterogeneity and cross-sectional dependence to determine the direction and sign of long run causality between exports and economic growth in the euro area economies from 2000 to 2014. The empirical evidence indicates that there is a unidirectional long-run Granger causality relationship from exports to economic growth in the euro area countries.
