The impact of return migration on the mental health of children

Abstract: Utilising the latest large-sample data from a survey conducted in 2015 in China, we empirically estimated the impact of return migration on the mental health of children. Our results show that the experience of return migration has a significant negative impact on children’s mental health as measured by depression risk, self-esteem and resilience.
