Do disability supports reduce requests for employment assistance in China?

Abstract: Disability employment is crucial to the broader social inclusion of people with disabilities (PWD). PWD request employment assistance when they subjectively feel disability supports are lacking or are unsatisfied with the current employment status. This paper examines how government and community disability supports address employment concerns and reduce requests for employment assistance. The results from the mediation regression model show few direct effects. Instead, disability supports improve employment outcomes, therefore indirectly alleviate requests for employment aids.
