Abstract:
Based on panel data analysis of 92 countries from 2000 to 2021, we provided empirical evidence regarding the effect of fiscal standards on the trade-off between public debt sustainability and output growth. The main result is that fiscal standards decrease the adverse effects of fiscal rules on output growth.
