Abstract:
This study examines the impact of the digital economy on high-quality economic development in 283 Chinese cities from 2011 to 2020, focusing on manufacturing industry agglomeration. The results show that the digital economy significantly enhances economic efficiency, particularly in larger cities, while smaller cities see less pronounced effects. The research highlights a pathway from digital economy development to industrial agglomeration, underscoring the critical role of manufacturing industry agglomeration in promoting high-quality economic development in Chinese cities.
