Chrysanthi Tsourapi and Anestis Gourgiotis

Planning Practice & Research, 2025, vol. 40, issue 5, 1263-1285

Abstract: This work is a practice review that explores the advantages deriving from the establishment of green business parks (BPs) on islands and the centralization of the production process within flexible green business parks on islands. It explores the sustainability of island green BPs, in particular the indicators that ensure the flexibility and industrial foresight of island green BPs. With reference to international experience, but also through the evaluation of indicators, we explore the possibilities of ensuring the flexibility and industrial foresight of green BPs, using as a case study the establishment of a flexible green business park on the island of Crete.
