The Kaliningrad defence industry: Problems of conversion
Yuri Zverev
Defence and Peace Economics, 1998, vol. 9, issue 4, 395-406
Abstract:
The paper is about the conversion problems of the Kaliningrad region's defence industry (Russian Federation). There is information about the structure and specialisation of the regional defence industry before the start of conversion. The main strategies of conversion in the region and examples of the largest companies are considered. The reasons for some conversion failures are analysed and some proposals for improvement of the conversion process are given.
