Abstract:
Under the suitable assumptions, we provide a moderate deviation result for the symmetry testing statistic defined supx∈Sd-1|fn(x)-fn(-x)|$\sup _{x\in {S^{d-1}}}|f_n(x)-f_n(-x)|$ where fn is the kernel density estimator for directional data and Sd − 1 is the d-dimensional unit sphere.
